A Community Food Collection enables us to engage with local residents and businesses in the community, strengthening relationships at the same time as supporting Anglicare’s work with people in need. The idea is simple, but can make a big impact!
We will set up a stall at the local shopping centre and give people an easy way to give towards Anglicare’s work with the vulnerable.
What it looks like:
• A stall / table set up outside of a local supermarket.
• Volunteers speaking to shoppers as they enter the store, inviting them to consider purchasing something from the list provided and donating it on their way out.
• Volunteers collecting donations from shoppers as they leave the store.
We will give training to help you in your conversations
During the St James Croydon Festival and Carols will run a stall to collect tins or toys for Toys n Tucker. And to make people aware of Anglicare services in the local area.
Great chance to help people hear about Anglicare support services including Individual and Family Counselling, Financial Support and housing services.
We wil train you to be on the stall. Or help with set up and pack up.
Help pack the hampers for families at the Anglicare warehouse. THere are options at Villawood and Summer Hill. It might be a good activity for your Growth Group to do together.

You can sign up directly to Anglicare but if you also send us a message we can connect you with other St James people. Or sign up with us and we will see if we can find you someone to go with.
